Defeat of the health care bill

So, Trump and his Trumpers are learning very quickly what some of us already attempted to tell them.  Business and politics are vastly different and require different skills sets. Like I said before, a businessman can say "Do as I say or I'll fire you." The president can't fire Paul Ryan if he doesn't get his work done. Yes, that's an over simplification but it's still correct.

To me, it's hardly a tragedy and democrats gloating are doing a foolish thing. Trump is still president and the GOP still controls everything. I get it, some leftists are grasping at straws here and I don't blame them-but Obamacare was "repealed" 40 times in the last few years and I'm confident it'll be repealed again. At least the attempt will happen again.

The process of governing is much more complicated than just telling everyone you can govern.

  1. That's the problem. People don't realize that a president can't do half of what he/she promises on the campaign trail. They don't have that kind of power.... on purpose. The separation of powers is set up on purpose so any one person can't mess it up that bad. Unfortunately that also shows our collective ignorance of our own laws. sigh....

    1. Exactly. Every time we get a new president people think "This time, things will really change." Not really, and in reality that's a good thing. We don't want the president to have so much power that he or she CAN change things.
