Godsmack-The Oracle
Godmack can be hit or miss with me. I accept that no band will always release wonderful albums where you will like every song. Even your favorite bands have some bad records. Pearl Jam is the classic example of this. Their good albums are legendary but when they are bad they are very, very bad.
Godsmack is a bit like that, though even at their best they are no where near as good as Pearl Jam. The Oracle is when they stopped experimenting with a different sound and got back to what made them good in the first place. For an established band this album has a raw, energetic sound that I really like. "Whiskey Hangover" could appear on the first Godsmack album-it has that kind of aggressive feeling. The entire album has the same sound.
