Scripture Sunday Alma 53: 17

Liberty is a reoccurring theme in the book of Mormon and many times the people of God are advised to never give up their liberties or continue going to war until their liberties are restored. Out of all of the issues that war is considered justifiable for, few churches would state that "liberty" is one of them. Most LDS lean slightly towards that side in their political views because of the frequent mentions of liberty in their scriptures.

Religious liberty has been in the news lately as well. A group of churches have written to the president reminding him that religious liberty is still a right in the country and that we feel it's under attack in some ways. I am surprised-usually all religions can do together is dislike one another. It's nice to see them unite under something.
