Pearl Jam-Vs
"Ten" established Pearl Jam as at the one of the greatest bands of the 90's and brought them mainstream acceptance. For a brief moment in time, they became the Beatles and Kiss of the 90's where every album they released was a must have.
"Ten" had a slower grunge sound and "Vs" has a much more rock sound. I love their first album and it has some of the songs that defined them-but "Vs" is actually overall better. In my view it shows their complete talents with diverse songs like "Leash", "Daughter", "Indifference". This is another album where there are really no bad songs.
There is also a bit of sadness to this album. Pearl Jam would decline after this. Vitalogy is also a good album, but it's not as good as Vs or Ten. Pearl Jam achieved large mainstream success than decided it wasn't for them. In a way that's a good thing-they didn't sell out, after all-but their albums after this one seem to be lacking the sound and innovation that their first three do.
