I'm not going to give this actor anymore attention that he already has, so I'm not naming his name. Needless to say, if you haven't heard about it, an actor apparently made up getting attacked in a "hate crime", saying he was assault by two men wearing MAGA hats when in reality, it appears that two Nigerian men were paid to beat him up.
People on the left want to believe that two people wearing MAGA hats would randomly beat up someone who was a minority-it fits their narrative that all Trump supporters are racist and bigoted. Hate crimes are horrible-when they actually happen. However lying about hate crimes is perhaps worse, because you are smearing innocent people who have done nothing wrong.
This isn't a first time thing. It's convenient to forget about people making fake hate crimes-but it's actually much more common than one might think.
