Album of the weekend

Metallica-Kill em All

Remember the days of compact discs? When you could manually program songs you wanted to listen to in order? I jumped from cassette tapes (good friggin riddance to them) to cd's and never looked back.

This is one CD that, after listening to the first time-I realized I was programming every single song whenever I listened to it. It's another album by Metallica that is bittersweet to listen to, just because it shows you how stunningly good they were. Megadeth fans like me say it's because of the influence of Dave Mustaine, but in reality the entire band as priceless here.

Hit the Lights, The Four Horsemen and Motorbreath set the stage for this albums dark, loud and very fast mood. Sure, having the title "Kill em All" doesn't mean you are into a cupcakes and rainbows time, but all the songs have a dark and moody tone. Like most good, old school Metallica albums this one also has an incredible instrumental song, "Anesthesia".

You can headbang to this and if you are a wresting legend, you can use it as your entrance song. This album is correctly viewed as a trash metal classic, and it is truly glorious.

This is the kind of music they play in heaven. Flawless.
