Scripture Sunday Alma 27:28

From the dawn of time, humans have accepted the inevitability of death. After all, when you see your loved ones pass away it becomes sort of hard to ignore the reality that you will pass away too. It's obviously far more complicated than how anyone could describe it. The best quote about death comes from the writer William Saroyan who said "Every man dies, but I always thought an expectation would be made in my case."

This passage asks us to "not look upon death with any degree of terror, for their hope and views of Christ and the resurrection; therefore death was swallowed up to them by the victory of Christ over it." All Christians believe this, and it's fundamental to our belief in Christ. After all, putting aside His social teachings the entire life of Christ is rather meaningless if He didn't promise His followers everlasting life.
