This is another passage I don't really understand. Are we to give up everything we possess in order to achieve "great joy"? After all, Christ Himself said that it will be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle before a rich man enters Heaven. So it seems that only the poor and meek enter into Heaven and no one else does.
But no, I don't believe that is the case.
We sometimes think with poverty comes authenticity, and there is a phoniness or fraud to all of those who are wealthier than we are. Remember though-envy is also sinful, gravely so. I believe that the majority of people who complain about others riches suffer from this sin. If it's true, that only the poor enter Heaven, than the leadership of all churches, from LDS to Jewish to Catholic to Protestant, are in serious trouble.
