Sam Young saga comes to an end

His hunger strike ended. I'm not sure he can claim victory, because his main cause failed. No apostle met with him. I wasn't excepting the apostles to meet with him-they might have viewed his actions as manipulative. To some degree, they are right, even though Youngs cause was noble. He attracted some more mainstream news attention, but not the kind he wanted. I'm not sure that people outside the LDS world were aware of what went on.

The news story about yet another scandal in the Catholic church trumped what he was doing. There are more Catholics than there are Mormons, so news about the priest scandal will logically attract more attention. Perhaps the Pennsylvania scandal would bring attention to Sam Young, because they both revolve around children.
