Flag burning is repulsive, disgusting, abhorrent and shows a jarring disrespect for the men and women who died to give you that right you abuse by burning it.
But it's also protected speech, is legal, and should never, ever be banned. The blunt truth is that freedom of speech and freedom of expression protect things that are disgusting, not things that that we agree with. Look at the scumbags at the Westboro Baptist Church. They have every right to protest, even though 99.9% of people disagree with them and find that repulsive-they still should have the right to speak.
Trump has said he wants to make flag burning "illegal". He's playing to his base and they are, of course, eating it up.
There are no "safe spaces" in the real world. If you don't like something, you have to be a big boy/big girl and ignore it. This used to be common sense but lately it's becoming controversial to say it. That's depressing, because society shouldn't be forced to accommodate your fragile feelings, no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on.
