Sure, Kanye West should be admired because he seems to think for himself on certain issues. Any minority who dares to think for themselves when it comes to politics is truly punk-it takes serious backbone for them to do that. Sadly and tragically, if you are African-American it can be very hard on you if you dare to break from leftist thinking. So for that reason, Kanye should be admired.
However, the guy is still a jerk.
Taking away his recent political conversion, five weeks ago people who are now praising him didn't even know who he was, or if they did, they didn't like him. The quickest way to gain/lose supporters in our culture is to speak your mind politically. Taylor Swift is learning about that now, ironically. Kanye may have destroyed his career over this. The people buying his records in the first place weren't republicans, and they never would have bought his albums. Now, the people buying his music may no longer do so.
