Album of the weekend

Visigoth-Conqueror's Oath

Do you remember the song, "Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin? It's one of the few songs by them I like-no apologies. This entire album reminds of a metal version of that song. The songs are rooted deeply in fantasy and warfare, and listening to it takes you to another world. If that's not your thing, you should avoid this album at all costs.

However, if you can get beyond the fantasy/mythological lyrics, you'll find a fantastic album. It's crisp, fresh, perfectly produced and it's sounds spectacular. There is not a single bad song on the album, each one is worth downloading. Visigoth does what few bands out there can do-they walk the line between nerd like obsession with Dungeons and Dragons and heavy metal songs that appeal to anyone who likes heavy metal. This is without question one of the best albums I've downloaded in a long time.
