Call it whatever you'd like, but this is a classic case of NIMBY* liberalism. A group of wealthy San Fransisco citizens are starting a GoFundMe account to keep a homeless shelter from their neighborhood.
Oh sure, the story could be read as "these noble, progressive, heroic and angelic citizens of the progressive haven San Fransisco are giving up their own money to help the needy." and there is a small degree of truth to that. There is also a level of delusion. The reality is that there is a certain part of population that loves to talk about everyone else giving and helping the homeless, but refuse to do so when they can see a homeless shelter from the backyard of their mansion.
*NIMBY means "Not in My Back Yard"
