Lottery fever

I've spoken a lot on how I disagree with the church on certain issues. With this one, I agree one hundred percent. 

Big difference between Powerball tickets (still a bad idea) and being a casino leech (a worse idea). Though at least in a casino the odds are just bad, not like winning the Powerball (Odds of being elected President are actually much better-and that's not happening either).

Yes of course you should be allowed to buy Powerball tickets, go to casinos and generally do what you please as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. The lottery, however, really  does hurt people who spend their paychecks on scratch tickets. The unintended consequences are enormous. 

The lottery is called "a tax on the mathematically ignorant" for a reason.
