The system has failed

No, it's not about the amazing Megadeth song. It's about the school shooting. Have you paid attention to this story? For a story that you thought could not get worse, it's getting worse the more we hear about it.

We know that the majority of the blame is solely on the shoulders of the psychopath who pulled the trigger. Not the gun, not the sheriff, not the students, not the administration-we get it. But the red flags were all over the place with this guy. The bullying is disturbing. In 2018 with a lot of attention paid on bullying and it's effects on children, it's troubling that no one put a stop to it and placed the kid in counseling. More importantly, why didn't the bullying stop? That's strike one against the system.

Strike two is how the government apparently ignored many tips about the deeply disturbing behavior of the kid. The FBI didn't care. Neither did the local police. If you see something, say something, but let's be honest. Everyone saw something, many people said something, and no one cared.

We can talk about the sheriff being a self promoting fool. We can talk about the deputy who resigned due to his own cowardice. Apparently cowardice wasn't limited to one deputy. According to one report, multiple cops didn't bother to enter the school until more students were killed. But all that talk is meaningless at this point.

The system has failed, and it has nothing to do with gun control.
