Prince William and overpopulation

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and future Prince of Whales has some interesting ideas, like his father does. Apparently he thinks that overpopulation will be a problem. Oddly though, this doesn't apply to him and his wife-who are expecting baby number three. Like Ted Turner, who also believes in the "world is suffering from overpopulation" bullshit,  they still father children and don't seem to get the hypocrisy that their overpopulation views have. Let me spoil it for you: overpopulation is a joke. It is of no threat whatsoever and actually, the much greater threat is going in Greece right now. Shrinking family size is an issue, not overpopulation.

It's so obvious that I have to remind myself that people actually don't believe it. Humans make the world better. Humans create things. Humans not being born do not create things and do not add to society. Oh sure, sometimes humans create great evil. But in reality, 90% of humans are doing things that are beneficial to society. The more humans, the better.

Are we running out of space? Resources? That's nonsense too. In reality, the world is huge. There is a lot of space out there. While I'm no expert in demographics I'm sure the that population of the entire world could probably fit into the continetnal United States with comfortable room for personal space. That would leave the entire rest of the world for farming, entertainment, and production of food.

We aren't having too many kids, we're having too little. The brilliant book "The Children of Men" talks about this in depth and much better than I ever could. The future King of England needs to get himself a copy.
