Shockingly, people are surprised by this but a gay teacher was fired from a Catholic school after she got married to her girlfriend. Just to make it clear-I'm in favor of gay marriage, so her marriage doesn't bother me in the slightest. I hope it lasts 50 years. But the church has every right to fire her for not living up to their standards. The school is a private institution and should be allowed to do what they damn well please. The other thing is that if you agree to teach at a private school instead of a public one-you should be smart enough to know you have to play by their rules.
Some good questions to ask though-would the school fire her if she divorced and remarried in a heterosexual union? What if she was a member of the Masons or a group whose teachings is in contradiction to what the church teaches? If she would have, then great-the church is consistent. But she wouldn't have, probably. I went to Catholic school and I can think of two teachers who were divorced and remarried, and one who was a Mason. I can also think of teachers who we thought were doing other immoral activities as well.
The real moral is a tragic one. If you are going to break the rules, don't get caught. And some sins are more taboo than others, clearly.
