This is a terrifying movie, but it is only so if you faith. Those with none won't get the big picture. Demonic possession is thought of strictly as a mental disorder in 2015. The movie knows this. The doctors and even the priest don't believe in possession at first, and you can't blame them. Like the movie says, someone saying they are "the devil" is like saying they are Napoleon or George Washington. Still though, if agnostics/atheists were as open minded as they claim to be, they'd at least see why someone would view this movie as deeply disturbing.
What is sad though? We've become so coarse and vulgar in our movies that the actions of Reagan don't scare us anymore. It's hard to unsettle the public. That's not a good sign. Like the Europeans say, a little revolution now and then is a good thing, and so is a feeling uncomfortable. If you've never felt that way before looking at art, it's a not a good sign. It means you are not thinking.
