The Police-Synchroniticy
The Police are far, far more influential than what is known. Their lyrics are much darker than known. No, "Every Breath You Take" isn't a love song, it's a creepy song about obsessive, unrequited love. When people choose that for their wedding song I want to cringe. And "Creepy" doesn't mean "bad". It's one of my favorite songs.
I also have to salute the song "Don't Stand so Close to Me." It references one of my favorite writers of all time, Vladimir Nabokov. People who aren't very educated or blind with hate assume things about him, because he wrote the book, "Lolita". Not the time or place, but that book is brilliant and no, it's not about what you are thinking of. More on that later.
Dark lyrics, innovative sound, influenced all of us. This album is a classic.
