Garbage-Self titled
"Only Happy When it Rains" is classic. It's a nice little slap in the face to whiny, fussy hipsters like Radiohead who think they are "so conflicted and deep" They use this attitude to attract women. After all, it's so cool to be "dark". It's the ultimate reclamation project. People wrongly assume that being dark is also being deep. What? What's this have to do with the album? Good point. Moving on.
Garbage isn't really well known, and that's a pity. Like the other grunge band Sponge, you have to actively seek them out. I strongly suggest you do. This album is a bridge period between pure grunge and the 'nu-metal' of Limp Bizkt and Korn of the late 90's. Not only were they ahead of their time, they fit right into the sound of the moment. Few bands can do that.
