The pharmaceutical company that makes Oxycontin might be filing for bankruptcy due to legal fees and lawsuits. At first, you might think this is a good idea because after all, Oxycontin kills innocent people. But it isn't. At all.
If you are in chronic pain and need the drug legitimately, then now you'll have to switch to another drug that might not work as well. I'm not sure that the average person knows what it's like to be in chronic pain and no, you have no right to tell someone that they should have to stop taking a painkiller that works for them.
Tragically, some people become addicted to painkillers and yes, some people die from their addiction. As horrible as that is, that doesn't change the fact that some people, especially those dying of horrific diseases, are in great pain and have every right to alleviate that pain. Even with Oxycontin.
