No, the NFL won't be going out of business anytime soon. That's not the way it would work. The poet TS Eliot said, "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper." That's how many personal relationships end, that's how many public relationships end. Oh sure, it can be a dramatic break that happens all of a sudden, but most things slow down first, then stop working completely, then just quietly end.
My question to the NFL players still protesting-what if they gave a protest and no one showed up to care about it? People are paying attention, but if people stop paying attention the rich athletes will no longer be rich. Like it or not, the customers pay their salaries. If no one buys tickets and no one watches games, salaries will be lowered. It's a mathematical certainty. I assume that football is so popular that it won't be long term. You'll also have football fans that are like me as a baseball fan-no matter what they do some will still follow the sport no matter what.
So sorry right wing snowflakes-the NFL ain't going anywhere. Yet. It probably isn't going for a long time. But they need to be careful. After all, if no one is paying attention to you, your NFL protests will be useless.
