And another Hollywood sex scandal has exploded. This time, it's much worse. Looks like Kevin Spacey made some advances towards minors. That is the worst thing you can do, gay, straight or whatever.
First off the matter of his sexuality. It seems to me, and to many other people, that he used it as a shield to deflect the serious charges. No one cares what adults do in privacy and your sexuality is your own business. Thinking you can use your sexuality to excuse bad behavior is an insult to gays and straight people, but especially gay people. If I was a gay man I'd be absolutely furious about how Spacey acted-both the sexual assault part and the "I'm gay so that justifies it in part."
Now, the sexual assault part. A powerful man/woman can delude themselves into thinking they can get away with anything and that the rules don't apply to them. Politicians like John Edwards show how someone who has never had to play by the rules can behave. It appears as though Kevin Spacey (who is a brilliant actor) acts like that as well.
He's innocent till proven guilty of course-but it doesn't look good.
