My question/concern is based in ignorance, I admit that, but I've always wondered how pastors at megachurches can assist their parishioners. In the LDS church, our main pastor is called a "bishop". If someone needs spiritual or temporal assistance of any kind, you can make an appointment with him and you two can talk things out. In a mega church, one that has thousands of members (!), how can that happen?
Look, I'm not saying don't go to megachurches or that they are spiritually deficient in some way. Obviously I don't agree with their theology, but putting that aside I'm not sure how they could help you through the harder times in life.
